Fadli Zon Calls The Late Aware Subagyo A Farmers' Figure

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Leadership Council of the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association (DPN HKTI) Fadli Zon expressed his deep sorrow for the death of the Secretary General of the DPN HKTI Aware Subagyo, who is known as a farmer fighter and a dedicated figure for Indonesian agriculture.

Fadli Zon confirmed that the Secretary General (Sekjen) of the DPN HKTI Aware Subagyo had died.

"It's true, (Secretary General HKTI Aware Subagyo passed away)," said Fadli Zon, quoting ANTARA, Sunday, December 1, 2024.

Fadli Zon, who is also the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, revealed that the Secretary General of the DPN HKTI Aware Subagyo died on November 30, 2024 at 06.10 WIB at PMI Bogor Hospital.

The news of the death of the Secretary General of HKTI was also uploaded by Fadli Zon on his personal Instagram social media account @fadzlizon.

In Fadli Zon's upload, he wrote that the figure of the Secretary General of the DPN HKTI Aware Subagyo was a "Farm Fighter",

"Goodbye Sadar Subagyo, Secretary General of DPN HKTI, farmers' fighters," Fadli Zon wrote in his Instagram upload.

During his lifetime, Secretary General of DPN HKTI Aware Subagyo had highlighted the discourse of placing Bulog and PT Pupuk Indonesia under the Ministry of Agriculture. For him, this will be a strategic step to respond to the needs of farmers more quickly and on target.

"It's time for us to leave a sectoral ego that is not profitable for farmers. If Bulog and PT Pupuk Indonesia are under the Ministry of Agriculture, the distribution of fertilizers can be more coordinated, and farmers' crops can be directly absorbed properly. This will make farmers more prosperous because the problem of distributing fertilizers that have been complicated so far can be resolved more quickly," said Awareness Tuesday (1/10).

He highlighted that currently many farmers experience delays in getting subsidized fertilizers, so productivity is disrupted.

Likewise, the absorption of non-optimal harvests often makes prices fall at the farmer level.

"Through this institutional arrangement, the government can focus more on providing real solutions to farmers," said Awareness.
