Former West Papua Kabinda And Nasdem Candidatesjerat Forgery Of SHM Documents

SORONG - The Sorong City Police (Polresta) of the City Police, West Papua Police, has officially named the former Head of the West Papua Regional State Intelligence Agency (Kabinda), Jerry Waleleng as a suspect in the alleged case of falsification of certificates of property rights (SHM).

Meanwhile, another reported person with the initials VN, who is also a candidate for legislative member (caleg) in the 2024 Legislative Election, has not been named a suspect by the Sorong City Police investigators.

Apart from Jerry Waleleng, the police also named two other reported parties, namely Yarit Sakona, the former Head of the Sorong City Land Agency, and his wife, Eka Barbelina Mansawan, as suspects in the same case.

"For VN, we have not yet named a suspect. The person concerned is currently in the process as a legislative candidate. Later, after the election, a re-examination will be carried out and determine the status of the person concerned," said the Sorong City Police Chief, Kombes Pol. Happy Perdana Yudianto, Tuesday, February 6.

Meanwhile, the attorney for the reporter, Jatir Yuda Marau, asked the Sorong City Police investigators to immediately detain the suspects.

"The article that is suspected of being threatened with a sentence of more than 5 years, so I ask investigators to arrest and detain them because they also influence witnesses," said Jatir Yuda.

The case of forgery of land certificates originated from a police report filed by Mariam Manopo in 2023 regarding the alleged embezzlement of land certificates in the Jalan Container area, Kalasuat Village, Klaurung District, Sorong City, Southwest Papua.

A total of three documents were falsified, but only one document was found by the local police. Meanwhile, the other two documents are still in the process of being investigated.

Against this alleged violation of the law, the suspects were charged with Article 264 paragraphs (1) and (2) and Article 263 paragraph (1) and (2) of the Criminal Code regarding document forgery.
