Successfully Damaged Police Handcuffs, Sabu Courier From Aceh Was Shot Dead In Medan

JAKARTA - Police officers shot dead a methamphetamine narcotics courier with the initials EE (47), a resident from Lhokseumawe, Aceh, when he was about to be arrested in Medan, North Sumatra.

"The suspect broke the handcuffs and fought the officer until he was injured in the right hand. Therefore, the officer gave measured decisive action and hit the suspect's chest," said Deputy Head of Medan Police, AKBP Irsan Sinuhaji during an expose of the case at the Patumbak Police, reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 12.

The disclosure began when Patumbak police officers received information from the public about the shipment of crystal methamphetamine packages from Aceh to Medan City.

On that basis, the Head of the Patumbak Police, Kompol Arfin Fachreza led the arrest operation by conducting an investigation from the Hinai area, Langkat Regency.

The officers received information that the suspect was riding the Rainbow Bus BL-7314-AA so that his party gave chase.

"The new bus can be stopped in the area of Medan Sunggal Subdistrict. Officers then conduct searches of people and luggage," he said.

At that time, the suspect looked suspicious, so his party conducted an intensive search but did not find any evidence of methamphetamine.

The team re-examined the suspect's bench, then found two plastic bags containing 2 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

Subsequently, officers carried out developments to find buyers for the shabu-shabu in the Sei Mencirim area, Medan Sunggal.

"At that time the suspect broke the handcuffs, then fought Bripda Rejeki Banurea until he was injured. The officers had to shoot the suspect and hit his chest to death," he said.
