The Chancellor of Unila is Off Communicating Directly with the Parents of Prospective New Students, Including PDIP Politician Utut Adianto

BANDAR LAMPUNG - The non-active Chancellor of the University of Lampung (Unila), Karomani, admitted to communicating directly with several parents of prospective new students who asked for their help to be accepted at the oldest state university in Lampung.

In the trial for the alleged bribery in new student admissions for the defendant Andi Desfiandi, Karomani mentioned several figures who entrusted their children and siblings to him to be accepted as Unila students.

"Those who directly entrusted their relatives to enter Unila were Police Joko, his friend Kadisdikbud (Head of Education and Culture Office) Lampung Sulpakar, and Mahfud Suroso, the shareholder of Urip Sumoharjo Hospital", said Karomani at the Tanjungkarang Corruption Court, Bandar Lampung reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 30.

Then, continued Karomani, other names, which in the evidence listed as many as 22 people, entrusted their children and siblings to be accepted at Unila through Mualimin and Budi Sutomo.

"For Mr. Utut (Adianto), the person concerned directly (sends a message) on my WhatsApp", continued Karomani who is also a suspect in the case.

He admitted that he had never been forced by setting a certain nominal amount to donate if the prospective student was accepted at Unila.

"I have never forced them to donate. If they want to donate, go ahead, because from these names some enter but don't give infaq", said Karomani.

During the trial of the defendant Andi Desfiandi, the public prosecutor (JPU) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) showed evidence in the form of Karomani's handwriting which contained a list of 22 names of prospective new students entrusted by several parties.

The names of the prospective entrusted students are NZ from DPR Member Utut Adianto, AQ NP from Thomas Rizka, KDA from Tamanuri, SNA from Polda Joko, NA from Sulpakar, RAR from the Regent of Central Lampung, FA from Pendekar Banten, ZA from the Minister of Commerce Zulkifli Hasan, ZAP from the defendant Andi Desfiandi, R from members of the DPR Khadafi, PR from the Banten Family, FS from Unila Deputy Chancellor II Asep Sukohar.

Then there is a prospective student with the initials M deposited from Asep Sukohar, AC deposited by Alzier Dianis Thabranie, NA deposited by Sulaiman, NT deposited by Dr. Z, RBM entrusted by the shareholder of Urip Sumoharjo Hospital, AF entrusted by Mahfud Suroso, M entrusted by Budi Sutomo, MZ entrusted by Budi Sutomo, CPM, and R.
