Seven Damaged Houses Hit By Strong Winds In Bener Meriah Aceh

BANDA ACEH - Seven housing units in two villages in Permata District, Bener Meriah Regency, Aceh, were badly damaged by strong winds, Tuesday, July 5.

The head of the BPBD's Emergency Division, Bener Meriah Anwar Sahdi, in Redelong, Tuesday, July 5, said the high winds hit the Antara Art Village and Buntul Kepies Village.

"Five houses were damaged in Antara Art Village and two houses in Buntul Kepies Village," said Anwar Sahdi, quoted by Antara.

According to him, the majority of the houses suffered damage to the roof due to the wind. Strong winds, he said, had occurred since Tuesday morning and continued into the afternoon.

"We urge residents to remain vigilant and careful," he said.

The local BPBD has distributed panic assistance to residents whose houses were damaged.

Assistance is provided in the form of basic needs to ease the burden of victims of this natural disaster during temporary evacuation.

"We also provide zinc assistance so that residents can repair their damaged roofs," said Anwar.
