BOGOR - Deputy Mayor of Bogor Dedie A. Rachim attended an activity in the form of assistance in making a greenhouse for seeding and planting PT Surveyor Indonesia's coffee seeds.

The event, which was held in Rancamaya, South Bogor, was a form of support for the achievement of SGDs-2 and SGDs-8, as well as commemorating World Million Trees Day which is celebrated every January 10.

"PT Surveyor Indonesia planted 300 coffee seeds that were 7 months old on an initial area of 1 hectare, and prepared around 60 thousand robusta coffee seedlings to be sown in the Greenhouse," said Director of Finance and Risk Management for Surveyor Indonesia Rosmanidar Zulkifli in a statement, Wednesday, January 12. yesterday.

Coffee beans are one of the largest export commodities in Indonesia. This is because the territory of Indonesia is known to be suitable for coffee cultivation because it has a good soil structure.

Not only that, the many mountainous areas are the perfect combination for coffee cultivation.

"Until now, Indonesia has become one of the countries with the largest and best coffee bean producers in the world based on the report of the Ministry of Trade in 2021," he added.

Therefore, cultivating coffee plants is the right step to help the welfare of the people around Pancasan Ngahiji Rancamaya Village who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Seeding and planting 300 coffee seeds is an effort to help the welfare of the community, hopefully with the cultivation of coffee plants we can create jobs and help improve the economy of Rancamaya residents," said Rosmanidar.

Surveyor Indonesia's Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL) has responsively initiated to contribute to the economic recovery of local residents, especially coffee farmers who will be fostered sustainably by Surveyor Indonesia so that their harvests can be maximized for the life and welfare of the Rancamaya community.

Meanwhile, the Head of TJSL Surveyor Indonesia, Syahrul Ramadhan also explained that this activity is one of the real contributions to support the reforestation program in Indonesia.

"By holding the planting of coffee seeds, this is one of our contributions to support the reforestation program in Indonesia, hopefully this activity can also improve the quality of air circulation in the Rancamaya area as a form of preserving the surrounding environment," explained Syahrul.

The activity of planting 300 coffee seeds and 60,000 seeds sown is expected to be useful for local residents, the community response is very enthusiastic about this activity. Surveyors Indonesia hopes that in the future they can contribute to carrying out other reforestation activities as a form of support for government programs to preserve the environment and restore the economy in Indonesia.
