Tulungagung Satpol PP Sanctions Members Who Give Permits For Silat Practice Inviting Crowds

TULUNGAGUNG - The Civil Service Police Unit of Tulungagung Regency, East Java issued a warning and first warning to its member with the initials LD who gave permission to practice silat in the multipurpose building belonging to the Satpol PP, thereby triggering a crowd of people.

"Later on, we will give the first written warning letter," said Head of Enforcement of Regional Regulations and Regent's Regulations, Artista Nindya Putra, quoted by Antara, Monday, November 1.

Currently, LD will be examined and given a warning letter, verbal or written.

The Satpol will then coordinate with the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDA) of Tulungagung Regency to evaluate administrative sanctions commensurate with the mistakes made by LD.

"Is it a demotion or a postponement of promotion. We will still consult with the BKPSDA," he said.

In addition to imposing administrative sanctions on LD, Satpol is now considering imposing sanctions on the organizers of the activities.

This decisive step was taken by the Satpol PP following the disbandment of the pencak silat practice by one of the martial arts colleges in the Satpol PP building, in front of the Tulungagung Regency hall, because it was considered to trigger a crowd.

There were more than 100 practice participants, crowding the multipurpose building which was only the size of two badminton courts.

Apparently, the organizers of the silat training, who argued that they were conducting a talent search for martial arts athletes for Porprov, got access (permission) from unscrupulous members of the local Satpol PP.

The granting of the special permit is said to have happened because the son of an unscrupulous member of the Satpol with the initials LD who became a member of the silat college, participated in the training.

"That's not permission from the leadership, the leadership didn't even know about the activity," explained Genot.

He regretted LD's actions. The reason is that Satpol PP is known as one of the guards for enforcing health protocols, and often disperses crowds.

However, internally, Satpol PP allowed the crowd to be in front of the Tulungagung Regency Hall.

"We often disperse celebrations, crowds, our own office even becomes the center of the crowd, so it's not pleasant," he said.

In the future, the multipurpose building may no longer be used for activities other than Satpol PP activities.
