Deputy Mayor Of Solo City Affirms In Tightening Rules For Residents' Activities Towards The End Of The Year
SOLO - The Surakarta City Government, Central Java, plans to tighten the rules for community activities ahead of the year-end holidays to ensure that the COVID-19 pandemic cases in the area remain under control.
"Later on December 1, we will make new (rules, ed)," said Deputy Mayor of Surakarta Teguh Prakosa after the COVID-19 Coordination Meeting in Solo, quoted by Antara, Monday, November 1.
Although currently, the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) in Solo is still at level 2, he said, there will be a number of regulations that specifically tighten residents' activities.
However, according to him, the implementation will be implemented ahead of the 2022 Christmas and New Year holiday periods.
"Today it's still normal, PPKM is still at level 2. There are nomenclatures that have been corrected, one of which (rules for, ed.) children," he said.
Teguh said one of the regulations was that if previously children under the age of 12 were allowed to be in public spaces, such as malls or tourist attractions, in the future it would be more stringent, namely that children under the age of five were prohibited from entering public spaces.
"So those who were under 12 years old could be accompanied by their parents, now those 5-12 years old can be accompanied by their parents, while those five years and under cannot be in public spaces," he said.

He explained that the tightening of the rules was carried out ahead of Christmas and the 2022 New Year to ensure that the COVID-19 pandemic remained under control so that the economy could continue to run.
"We want to keep the economic condition going but there should be no additions to children, especially elementary schools. If we don't consider (the COVID-19 case, ed.) we can target schools," he said.
Mentioned about some residents who are starting to ignore the prokes, his party continues to urge the public not to commit violations.
"We are not safe from COVID-19, we hope that people will continue to obey health protocols, especially when leaving the house. If you are inside the house you can without a mask, but if you leave the house anywhere you have to wear a mask," he said.
