Bareskrim Has Received Complaints Of Alleged Child Abuse Involving Members Of The DPR, Not Police Report

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police stated that it had received a complaint regarding the alleged molestation case involving a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives with the initials MM. Only, not through the Police Report (LP).

"Yes (it has been received) it's not the prison but a complaint," said the Director of General Crimes at the National Police Bareskrim Brigadier General Andi Rian Djajadi to VOI, Monday, November 1.

In the complaint, said Andi, the reporting party has not attached any evidence. Thus, the search for evidence is the first step in handling the alleged molestation case.

"An investigation was carried out based on the complaint," said Andi.

Previously, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period was reported to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Police for allegedly sexually abusing a minor. This case has been reported by the victim's attorney.

"The alleged criminal act of obscene acts against minors. Not sexual harassment," said the victim's attorney, Gangan when contacted by reporters, Wednesday, October 27.

When further confirmed, Gangan was reluctant to reveal the initials of the DPR RI member or which faction the alleged perpetrator of the molestation was from.
