No Presidential Letter From Jokowi, F-PDIP Chairman Reminds No Vacancies In The Position Of TNI Commander
JAKARTA - The chairman of the PDIP faction of the DPR, Utut Adianto, reminded the government to immediately send a presidential letter (Surpres) regarding the name of the candidate for the TNI Commander in Chief to the DPR.
The Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the DPR emphasized that there should not be a vacancy for the post of commander in chief for one day. Bearing in mind that the TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto will retire next week.
"There is no information from the leadership of the DPR regarding when the letter was written. We only know that the Commander in Chief will retire on November 8, 2021. There cannot be a vacancy for a day, so there is no PLT," said Utut Adianto at the DPR building, Monday, November 1
It is known that the 20th TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto on November 8, 2021, will be 58 years old. It has become a tradition in the TNI, before entering retirement, a replacement for the previous TNI Commander has been elected. In fact, the president who has the prerogative to choose the commander of the TNI, usually has already determined the candidate ahead of time.

However, Utut said that the DPR's Commission I had not yet received a copy of the presidential decree regarding the TNI Commander.
"The only one who knows is Mr. President, if I talk about it, how do I know that the Surpres has not been received. There hasn't been one until now," said Utut.
He also explained the procedure related to suppressing the name of the candidate for the TNI Commander in Chief that applies to the DPR RI before the fit and proper test is carried out.
"Usually, if President Jokowi has given a presidential decree to the leadership of the DPR, then the leadership of the DPR will forward it to the faction and then to the Bamus. From the new Bamus to Commission I, then a plenary meeting," concluded Utut.
