KANGASEM - The Head of West Tianyar Village, Karangasem, Bali with the initials AJP was sentenced to 8 years in prison. He was judged by the prosecutor to be guilty of corruption in the social funds for housing renovation assistance in Karangasem.
In addition to AJP, the prosecutor charged the defendant IGS with a sentence of 5 years and 3 months in prison and against the defendants IGT, IKP and IGSJ each with a sentence of 5 years in prison.
"Today's trial with the agenda of demands from the Public Prosecutor's Office related to the corruption case of grant funds for house renovation in West Tianyar Village worth 20 M 250 million," said Karangasem Head of Intelligence I Dewa Gede Semara Putra, Thursday, October 28.
The Karangasem District Attorney's Office was previously suspected of corruption in the Badung Regency grant fund to Karangasem Regency worth IDR 20.2 billion. The five corruption suspects were immediately arrested on Friday, April 9, 2021.
At the beginning, there were irregularities, in which the house renovation project was not completed in accordance with the allotted time, resulting in many complaints from beneficiaries. One of them complained about the lack of materials and additional costs.
