Examine Former Lampung Deputy Governor Bachtiar Basri, KPK Explores Project Arrangements In North Lampung
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to investigate allegations of project arrangements that led to the receipt of gratuities by a state civil servant (ASN), Akbar Tandarina Mangkunegara. He is the younger brother and serves as the confidant of the former North Lampung Regent, Agung Ilmu Mangkunegara.
Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said the investigation was carried out by summoning a number of witnesses, including former Deputy Governor of Lampung Bachtiar Basri.
"At the BPKP Lampung Province Representative Office, the investigation team has examined witnesses, namely Bachtiar Basri, the Deputy Governor of Lampung for the 2014-2019 period," Ali told reporters, Thursday, October 28.
Besides Bachtiar, the KPK also summoned another witness, namely the former Deputy Regent of North Lampung Sri Widodo. The examination of the two was carried out on Tuesday, October 26 and they were present.
Next on Wednesday, October 27, the KPK also summoned two witnesses, namely Syahbudin and Raden Syahril. Both were examined at the Class IIA Kalianda Prison, South Lampung because they were serving prison sentences in the same case.
During the examination for two consecutive days, the KPK investigated a number of things, including allegations of project management in a number of offices in the North Lampung Regency Government.
"All witnesses were present and their knowledge was explored, among others related to the alleged existence of various work projects in several offices in the North Lampung Regency Government which had been arranged and the winner was determined by Tsk ATNM as a representative of Agung Ilmu Mangkunegara, the former Regent of North Lampung accompanied by the provision of a percentage fee for the implementation As previously reported, the KPK has detained Akbar Tandiniria Mangkunegara, who was named a suspect since last April for allegedly receiving gratuities. He allegedly participated in playing projects with his brother from 2015 to 2019.
In carrying out the action, Akbar together with Agung and officials at the North Lampung Regency Government are said to have received up to Rp. 100.2 billion from a number of businessmen who received projects at the PUPR Office of North Lampung Regency. From this figure, it is suspected that he also enjoyed Rp 2.3 billion in money.
