Prosecutors Investigated 62 Serie A Transfers, 42 Of Them Involved Juventus
JAKARTA - The Italian federal prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into a number of transfers of Serie A players. The majority involve Juventus.
Citing Antara, the investigation was opened following a report from the Supervision Commission of Serie A clubs, COVISOC, regarding the practice of swapping players in the league.
Two local newspapers, La Repubblica and Il Tempo, reported that the report covered 62 player transfers between 2019 and 2021.
Gaining capital through exchange deals has often been discussed in Italy in recent years, due to the difficulty of fixing an exact market price for the players involved.
According to Italian media reports, prosecutors are investigating a possible inflated value to help clubs balance their balance sheets.
Allegedly, Juventus' transfer activity is the most targeted, as the Gazzetta Dello Sport report claims 42 of the 62 transfers investigated involve the most successful Italian club.

Last month Juventus revealed that the Italian market regulator, CONSOB, was reviewing their earnings from player-exchange activity.
Authorities obtained documents "regarding income arising from player exchange activities," without providing further details.
Juventus still declined to comment on this latest investigation.
