The Ministry Of Environment And Forestry Has 3 Times Received The KIP Award As An Informative Public Agency

JAKARTA - This year, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) again won an assessment as a Ministry Public Agency with Informative qualifications from the Central Information Commission (KIP), with a score of 97.20. The award for public information disclosure with informative qualifications was won by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry three times in a row.

This award was handed over directly by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin, virtually, Tuesday, October 26 to the Minister of Environment and Forestry, Siti Nurbaya.

The vice president said that the Indonesian state firmly guarantees the rights of its citizens to obtain information in accordance with the mandate of Article 28F of the 1945 Constitution and Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information. This means that the state, government and public bodies must continue to maintain public trust in state administrators.

"All public bodies must continue to encourage the spirit of openness and accountability of information which aims to build trust and public support in strengthening the spirit of a democratic state and nation," said the vice president.

Indonesia as one of the largest democracies in the world, is indeed required to implement democratic principles. One of them is the principle of information disclosure as a manifestation of a real commitment to building an open, accountable, participatory and innovative government.

Indonesia is also one of the initiators of the establishment of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), which is a global initiative to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption and utilize new technologies to strengthen governance in a collaborative governance of all stakeholders.

"As a member of the Open Government Partnership and one of the initiators, the Indonesian government, together with civil society organizations, can sit down together to show the right steps to encourage broad access to information on the activities of public agencies financed by the state as well as affordable, easy and quality public services," said the Vice President.

Minister of Environment and Forestry, Siti Nurbaya, thanked the ranks of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry for their maximum performance in the field of public information disclosure.

“Two years earlier, we won the award as an Informative Public Agency and this year we also won another Informative Public Agency from the Central Information Commission. Continue to improve our information disclosure services to the public, continue to be a service excellent institution," said Minister of Environment and Forestry, Siti Nurbaya.

The Ministry of Environment and Forestry received an Informative Public Agency assessment which is the highest qualification in information disclosure and services. This assessment was obtained from two main indicators, namely website development related to PPID (Information and Documentation Management Officer) and Public Information Announcement. This informative qualification is also given based on the results of the Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Information Disclosure in 2020.

For approximately five months, KIP carries out Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of Public Information Disclosure at Ministry Public Bodies, State Institutions and Non-Ministerial Government Agencies, Non-Structural Institutions, Provincial Governments, State-Owned Enterprises, State Universities, and Political Parties.

In the midst of a pandemic, information services by public agencies must continue to be carried out as per the Central Information Commission Circular No. 2 of 2020. The Public Relations Bureau as the Main PPID of the Ministry of LHK maximizes online-based information services, develops information and documentation systems that are easily accessible, and strengthens synergy between the Main PPID and the Implementing PPID and the UPT PPID.

As one of the mandates of Law no. 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry will continue to actively deliver and serve public information through various digital transformations and integration collaborations, which in the end can bring tangible benefits for the welfare of the Indonesian people now and in the future.
