Supervision Of Shallot Seed Procurement Case In NTT, KPK: State Losses Of IDR 5.2 Billion

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Lili Pintauli Siregar, said that her agency supervised the alleged corruption in the procurement of shallot seeds at the Department of Food Crops, Horticulture, and Plantations of Malacca, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) for the 2018 fiscal year.

He said the case was initially investigated by the NTT Police. However, in the process a letter of termination of case handling (SP3) was issued due to a pretrial decision.

"The reason the KPK is supervising the case is because it first caught the public's attention with the large number of complaints it received," said Lili in the Coordination Meeting (Rakor) of the Integrated Corruption Eradication Program with the Regional Police, the High Prosecutor's Office, and the BPKP at the NTT Police Headquarters, Tuesday, October 26.

In addition, this case has been going on for more than a year and the files have been returned for completion or P-19 seven times.

"This is a loss to the state of Rp. 5.2 billion," he said. Furthermore, he also mentioned the number of public complaints that have been submitted to the KPK. Lili said that many NTT residents complained of alleged acts against the law or abuse of authority which then caused state losses.

In fact, from 2018 to 2021 there were 392 public complaints from NTT to the KPK. "Most of them are related to unlawful acts or abuse of authority that results in state losses. After that, more are related to public complaints," said Lili.

The number of complaints was then asked to be taken into account, especially by law enforcement officers (APH). In addition, Lili asked all parties to sit down together to discuss the main issues, one of which is related to inputting the Notification of the Commencement of Investigation (SPDP).

"There are still SPDPs that have not been inputted, both from the Police and the Attorney General's Office. What do you think the problem is," said Lili.
