Sudi Silalahi's Message Conveyed To His Family Before He Died

JAKARTA - Cahyo Pangaribowo Silalahi, the third son of the late former Minister of State Secretary, Sudi Silalahi, feels the loss of his beloved father.

Cahyo immediately took off the departure of his father's funeral carriage from the Babussalam Mosque, Jatiwarna Complex to the Kalibata Main National Heroes Cemetery (TMP), South Jakarta.

The funeral procession for Lieutenant General TNI (ret) H. Sudi Silalahi was carried out militarily at the Kalibata TMP. From VOI's observations, it was seen that several important figures from the Republic of Indonesia joined the funeral at the tomb of the late Sudi Silalahi.

Even though it was raining quite heavily, it did not dampen the mourners from leaving the location. In fact, the funeral procession went smoothly with the presence of political figures in the country.

Before his departure, said Cahyo Pangaribowo Silalahi, his father never complained of any pain. After the death of his father only left a message to the child and family to continue to do good things.

"Previously (the late Sudi Silalahi) wasn't sick, no. Anyway, everything that was good had to be continued, that's all (the late Sudi Silalahi's message)", said Cahyo on the sidelines of the funeral at Kalibata TMP, Tuesday, October 26.

Cahyo continued, his late father often entrusted moral messages to his children, families, and relatives to stay within the corridors of religious regulations and orders.

"Always adhere to the rules, always adhere to religious orders, that's all. The rest we live like the others", he said.

Cahyo, who is the last child, will remember his father's message that he must continue to worship and work hard.

"The message (of the deceased) is about obeying the rules, obeying religion, following religious orders, that's all. The rest is hard work", he said.

After the funeral process was completed, it was observed that several visitors who came to the burial site also shook hands and expressed condolences with the family for the death of the late Lieutenant General TNI (ret) H. Sudi Silalahi.

One by one the mourners from various circles began to leave the Kalibata TMP location on Tuesday, October 26, at noon, at around 14.15 WIB.

Sudi Silalahi is known to have died at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital on Monday, October 25 at around 23.50 WIB. Sudi Silalahi died due to illness.

Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Sudi Silalahi was born July 13, 1949. He was Minister of State Secretary of the Republic of Indonesia from October 22, 2009, to October 20, 2014, in the era of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Previously he served as Cabinet Secretary.

Sudi graduated from the Akabri in 1972 and ended his military career with the rank of Lieutenant-General. He was Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's secretary when Yudhoyono was serving as Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs under Megawati Soekarnoputri's government.
