KPK Welcomes The Invitation To Collaborate With Bareskrim To Investigate The Flow Of Funds Related To Djoko Tjandra

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) positively welcomes the readiness of Bareskrim Polri to collaborate with its institution to investigate the flow of funds related to the escape of Djoko Tjandra, a fugitive in the Bank Bali collection rights (cessie) case.

"We positively welcome the readiness of Bareskrim to collaborate with the KPK in investigating the alleged corruption. We will welcome it in the corridor of corruption eradication coordination with APH (Law Enforcement Officials)," said KPK Deputy Chairman Nurul Ghufron as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 28.

He said coordination with fellow APHs had been built, for example through e-SPDP or the Notification of Commencement of Investigation.

"Every investigation into a criminal act of corruption is included in a system where APHs can know and monitor each other and we can provide assistance if needed," said Ghufron.

Earlier in a press conference at the Jakarta Police's Bareskrim Office, Monday (27/7), the Head of Criminal Investigation of the National Police, Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo, said that the party had opened an investigation to trace the flow of funds.

"Regarding the current flow of funds, we have opened a survey to carry out" tracing "of the flow of funds and of course we will explain it later in the next release," said Komjen Sigit.

Apart from that, he said, Bareskrim also did not rule out cooperating with the KPK to investigate the flow of funds.

"It does not rule out that we will cooperate with the KPK in order to investigate the flow of funds in question and of course our efforts in implementing the Corruption Act," he said.

The Special Team for Bareskrim Polri named former Karo Korwas PPNS Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo as a suspect in the case of letter forgery for Djoko Tjandra.

Komjen Sigit said that the determination of the suspect Prasetyo was based on the results of the case title conducted by the investigator on Monday, July 27, the morning which was attended by the Police Inspectorate, the National Police Propam Division, Rowassidik Polri, the directors and all investigators who are members of the Special Team for disclosing road papers.
