Jabodebek LRT Collised During Trial
JAKARTA - The Jabodebek Light Rail Transit (LRT) series collided on the track in the Munjul area, Cibubur, East Jakarta yesterday afternoon, while the train was conducting a test run. The accident involved two train sets, namely trainset 20 and trainset 29 for the Jabodebek LRT.
Then what will happen to the Jabodebek LRT trial?
President Director of PT Inka Budi Noviantoro said he would re-test the Jabodebek LRT after the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) completed an investigation related to the LRT accident in Cibubur.
Furthermore, Budi admitted to submitting to the results of the decisions of the KNKT and the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), based on the results of the investigation.
"It will depend on the KNKT and the Directorate General of Railways because they are the team, we are ready," he said in a virtual press conference, Monday, October 25.
Budi explained that the team was in the middle of preparing to conduct a trial of the LRT. When the collision occurred, said Budi, the LRT trial process was almost complete.
"This is indeed the process of testing the train, which is now almost finished, actually, almost finished for testing," he said.
Therefore, Budi hopes that even if the Jabodebek LRT trial is temporarily suspended, it will not take long. Given the rail next to it is not a problem.
"I hope it Doesn't take too long, because the rail next to it is okay," he said.
Later, said Budi, after the investigation process by the KNKT is complete, the train will be taken to Madiun, to be repaired again. Budi emphasized that INKA would bear the entire cost of the damage.
"Later, after clearing at the KNKT, when it's finished, we'll take it to Madiun, we'll fix it again. Maybe there are some components that still have to be fixed, if the components don't exist, we'll buy them again, that's okay," he said.
The collision occurred allegedly because the swiping process was too fast
Budi explained that the Jabodetabek LRT series involved in the accident was the number 20 and number 29 trainsets. Budi said the two trainsets were between Harjamukti Station and Ciracas Station.

"The train set is spread out between Ciracas and Harjamukti. (Trainset) 29 is in the middle, when trainset 29 wants to join towards Harjamukti there is a collision," he said.
Initial suspicion, said Budi, indicated that the overspend occurred during the swiping process. Budi said that further investigations would be carried out by the National Transportation Safety Committee or KNKT.
"It is indicated that there was a human error where the machinist at the time of passing exceeded his speed. But that will be determined by the results of the NTSC," he said.
For your information, langsir is the process of moving a series of trains, especially carriages and locomotives, to change rail lines.
The engineer suffered minor injuries
Budi confirmed that the driver only suffered minor injuries. According to him, the driver when he was taken to the hospital was conscious. He said this shows that the LRT train is strong.
"Thank God, it is okay, minor injuries and when he arrived at the hospital he was still conscious. It means that the train is strong," he said.
