JAKARTA - Residents in Bumiaji Subdistrict, Batu City, East Java, were in an uproar this morning. The body of a man wearing blue jeans and a jacket was found under the Kali Lanang Bridge.
The head of Pandanrejo Village, Abdul Manan, explained that the body which was under the Kali Lanang Bridge was found by passers-by at around 06.30 WIB.
"There were residents who saw, and reported to me, at approximately 06.30 WIB," said Abdul, Monday, October 25, quoted from Antara.
After receiving the report, he then went to the scene to check. After that, he then reported to the police regarding the discovery of the body.
He added that the Batu City Police had carried out the crime scene (TKP), and evacuated the man's body.
"Earlier, the Resort Police had arrived to conduct a crime scene investigation and also evacuate the bodies that were found under the bridge," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Batu Police, Iptu Yussi Purwanto, said that from the results of the investigation of the crime scene and identification, it was found that there were scars and blood on the victim's face.
He added that it was suspected that the victim died when he fell from the bridge. However, his party is still waiting for the results of the autopsy and investigation to determine the cause of death of the victim.
"There are wounds and blood on the head, temporary suspicions due to a fall. But we are waiting for the results of the autopsy and investigations to determine the cause of death of the victim," he said.
He explained that at first, the identity of the body was unknown, because there was no identity on the victim's body. Then, the results of the officer's investigation, it was found that the body was a resident of Bulukerto Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City.
"The investigation was finally able to reveal the identity of the victim. He is 34 years old named Eko Tri Manto, with the address Jalan Imam Sujono, Bulukerto Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City," said Yussi.
After obtaining the identity of the victim, the police also asked for information from the family. The family stated that the victim left the house in the morning. The victim was also reported to be out of work.
"According to the family, the victim left the house this morning and did not work," he added.
Currently, the victim's body is in the Hasta Brata Hospital, Batu City, for an autopsy to be carried out, to determine the cause of death of the victim.
