Leave America, International Release Tenet First

JAKARTA - Christopher Nolan's persistence in making Tenet as the opening of the cinema business continues as planned. At least Warner Bros. as a production house reports, this film will be released internationally first.

The reason they left the release in the United States was because the country had not yet reopened the cinema business. In addition, several countries have started to open cinemas, including Canada, Germany, South Korea and Japan.

Because of this, Tenet will be released at the end of August in 70 countries including Canada, Australia, Italy, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, UK and Russia. However, it is not yet known whether this film will be released in China or not.

Tenet has changed its broadcast schedule twice, July 17 and August 12. Initially, this film was said to be the opening act for the return of the cinema business.

However, because cinemas in the United States have not yet received permission to open plus the COVID-19 cases that have not yet dropped, Warner Bros. re-thinking about releasing this film.

This time, Tenet cannot carry out the tradition of releasing in the United States. On the other hand, the production house believes that international audiences can bring benefits to films starring Robert Pattinson and John David Washington.

Reporting from Variety, Tuesday, this confidence originated from Peninsula, which successfully earned US $ 21 million in South Korea in less than two weeks. It is a sign that international cinemas can attract audiences to watch the film.

If this plan goes ahead, Tenet will still be the first tentpole film to be released amidst the pandemic. Of course, not just releasing, Warner Bros. must also determine the idea for Tenet to succeed.
