125 Packages Of Cannabis Found In Pariaman Prison Prison Cell
PARIAMAN - Officers from the Class IIB Correctional Institution (Lapas) Pariaman City, West Sumatra, found 125 packages of dried marijuana in the cells of the inmates during a raid.
The 125 packets of dried marijuana consisted of 124 small packets wrapped in newsprint, and another medium size packet that was stored in cigarette cans.
"Yesterday, officers received information that there were inmates who used marijuana. We then conducted a raid in Block Room 5 E, then found dried marijuana in a cigarette box," said Head of Pariaman Class IIB Prison Eddy Junaedi, quoted by Antara, Friday, October 22.
Because his party was not satisfied with the results, the officers on Friday morning searched the other rooms again. Dried marijuana was found compacted in a cigarette can.
At least two inmates and a detainee were involved in the possession of the illicit goods, namely RA (36), QK (28), and YY (25), all three residents of Padang Pariaman.
When questioned, the suspected marijuana owner had the initials RA. RA admitted that the illicit goods belonged to him which he obtained from QK.
Meanwhile, YY was in charge of picking up illegal items that were thrown from behind the fence by someone about 4 days ago at 04.15 WIB.
The discovery was reported by the prison to the Pariaman City Police for further legal action.
Meanwhile, Pariaman Police Chief AKBP Deny Rendra Laksmana through the Head of Public Relations of the Pariaman Police AKP Syafruddin said that his party received a report of the discovery of marijuana in the prison at around 11.30 WIB.
"After that, the Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit contacted the KBO and members of the Narcotics Opsnal to come closer to Pariaman Prison," he said.
After coordination, he continued, the perpetrators and evidence were brought and secured to the Pariaman Police Headquarters for further investigation.
