Former Regent Of Tapteng Raja Bonaran Situmeang, Known As Anggodo Widjojo's Lawyer, Dies
MEDAN - The former regent of Central Tapanuli, Raja Bonaran Situmeang died at Metta Medika General Hospital, Sibolga City, North Sumatra. Before he died, Bonaran had to undergo medical treatment for two days.
Head of the Class IIA Penitentiary Security Unit (KPLP), Sibolga City, Rian Firmansyah, explained that Bonaran had been complaining of illness since October 20. The prison then referred him to the Pandan Hospital.
"Based on the request of the inmate's family, on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 19.30 WIB, the inmate (Bonaran) was transferred to the Meta Medika Sibolga Hospital", said Rian, Friday, October 22.
Rian continued, on the evening of Thursday, October 21, Bonaran arrived at the emergency room at Metta Medika Hospital in an unconscious state. Next, the health workers immediately took action.
"On Friday, October 22, 2021, at 11.15, the inmate was declared dead by the doctor at RSU Metta Medika Sibolga, with the number: 11/65412/RSMM/X/2021", said Rian.
His body was then brought by the family to his hometown in Central Tapanuli Regency to be buried and interred.

Bonaran Situmeang served as the Regent of Central Tapanuli for the 2011-2016 period. Bonaran served 4 years in prison in the bribery case of Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Akil Mochtar.
Then, the man who had a lawyer background and was famous when he accompanied Anggodo Widjojo, was again sentenced to 5 years in prison for hiding the origin of the money suspected of being the proceeds of a criminal act of fraud.
The sentence was handed down by a panel of judges chaired by Maratua Sagala at the Sibolga District Court, Monday, July 8, 2019. He was declared legally and convincingly guilty of committing an act that was regulated and was threatened with a criminal sentence in Article 4 of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 8 of 2010 concerning Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering.
At the Sibolga Prison, Bonaran is serving a sentence for a criminal case of fraudulent acceptance of civil servants in the Central Tapanuli Regency Government in 2014.
