Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources: Increase In The Number Of Electricity Customers In The Third Quarter Of 2021 Exceeds The Target

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Electricity, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) noted that the increase in the number of electricity customers in the third quarter of this year has exceeded the target.

The Director-General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Rida Mulyana, said that currently, the number of new electricity customers is 81.229 from the target of 79.187 customers.

"In terms of adding customers, the target has been achieved. Until September 2021 we have reached 102.6 percent of the target," he said in a virtual press conference, Thursday, October 21.

Meanwhile, for electricity consumption, Rida said, it had reached 1.109 kWh per capita in the third quarter. Meanwhile, the electricity consumption target is 1.203 kWh per capita. When compared to Anne-Marie, the realization of the previous year's electricity consumption was 1.089 kWh per capita.

"Electricity consumption per capita can be seen at 92.2 percent because what we want is 1.203 kWh per capita," he said.

The realization of the addition of power plants until the third quarter of 2021 has only reached 15.1 percent or 36.62 megawatts (MW). Meanwhile, the target is 6.187.91 MW.

Meanwhile, for the addition of substations, the realization has only reached 53.4 percent or 4.521 MVA from this year's target of 8.460 MVA.

Then, for the addition of new distribution substations, 33.2 percent of the target, or 1.002.63 MVA. Meanwhile, the realization of the addition of transmission reached 40.1 percent or 1.910.06 kms. The target in 2021 is 4.765.90 kms.

Rida said that the achievement of reducing CO2 emissions from the generator has exceeded the target, which is 210.8 percent of the target of 10.37 million tons.

"Especially for CO2 from our generators, last year we targeted 8.78 million tons of reduction, and the 2021 target was reduced by almost 5 million tons. What we have achieved has exceeded that," he said.
