Prosecutor's Office Receives Documents For Killing 5 Elephants In Aceh Jaya

BANDA ACEH - The Aceh Jaya District Attorney's Office is examining the files handed over by the Aceh Jaya Police on 11 suspects who killed five elephants in 2020.

The Aceh Jaya District Attorney's Office through the public prosecutor, Ahmad Buchori, said that the dossier for the five elephant killers has now been submitted and is being prepared for pre-prosecution.

"We have received the file and we are currently conducting a pre-prosecution examination," said Buchori, quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 21.

He explained that the file examination is currently being carried out for nine people, while the files for 2 more people are being repaired.

"Yesterday everything was entered, but something was missing so we returned it to the police investigators for repairs," he said.

Later, a single indictment will be drawn up, namely Article 40 paragraph 2 concerning Law Number 5/1990 concerning Conservation of Biological Natural Resources and Ecosystems.

"For the maximum threat of five years in prison, for prisoners and evidence, we may receive them at the end of this 10 month," he said.
