The Fire In Mangga Dua Allegedly Originated From An Electronics Warehouse

JAKARTA - The fire occurred on Jalan Mangga Dua Abdad, RT/RW 004/007, Mangga Dua Selatan Village, Sawah Besar District, Central Jakarta.

Public Relations of DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Mukat Wijayanto explained, the fire was suspected to be from an electronic goods warehouse.

"Receive the news at 18.10 WIB. At this time there is still a blackout," Mulat told reporters, Saturday, October 16.

Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency (Sudin Gulkarmat) officers suspect that the fire that hit an electronics warehouse in the Mangga Dua area, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta on Saturday night, originated from a short circuit in the SiCepat Warehouse.

"It is suspected that there was an electrical short at the SiCepat Warehouse," said Unggul when confirmed in Jakarta.

The fire engulfed the refrigerator and washing machine warehouse, which is a two-story building. At least 15 fire engines and 60 personnel were deployed to cool the 300 square meter area from the blaze.

As of 19.43 WIB, the officers were still cooling down. Officers also asked the community around the location to be vigilant because the spread of fire is very possible.

"The obstacle is that the water source around the location is full of mud," said Unggul.
