Resigning From The Deputy Chair Of The Solok DPRD, Ali Sabri: My Problems With The Party Are Old
PADANG - Deputy Chairperson of the South Solok Regency DPRD from the National Mandate Party (PAN) Ali Sabri Abas resigned as a member of the legislature because he felt he was no longer in line with the party.
"My problem with the party has actually been around for a long time and there is no clarity until now, so I chose to resign and I submitted my resignation letter to the DPRD on Thursday, October 14," said Ali Sabri in Padang Aro, quoted by Antara, Friday, October 15.
He said party sympathizers who supported him were disappointed with the party's attitude since the nomination of regional heads.
Many sympathizers questioned the party's decision and they were disappointed with the decision.
"They feel that the party is no longer sided with the constituents and many are questioning the party's decision," he said.
According to him, he sat as a member of the DPRD because of his constituents, but now they are struggling so he chose to resign.
"Now the party's will is different and the constituents' will is also different, so it is better for me to resign," he said.
He said his resignation letter had been submitted to the party which reads his resignation as a member and chairman of the DPRD. The secretary of the South Solok Council (Sekwan) Mardiana said Ali Sabri Abas' resignation letter had already been submitted to the DPRD.
"After this, it will be processed first and then PAW will be carried out," he said.
The chairman of the South Solok PAN DPD, Erwin Ali, said he had also received a letter of resignation from Ali Sabri Abas.
"We will process it and after that it will be submitted to the DPP," he said.
