At Night, 83 Online Loan Operators In Sleman Arrested By Police

YOGYAKARTA - A total of 83 illegal online loan operators (Pinjol) at the illegal lending office in the Samirono area, Caturtunggal, Depok District, Sleman Regency, were arrested, Thursday, October 14 evening.

"A total of 83 people have operators, HRD, and all kinds of things", said Head of Public Relations of the Yogyakarta Police, Kombes Yuliyanto, as quoted by Antara, Friday, October 15.

The DIY Police, he said, only made a "backup" of the West Java Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation Police to carry out raids and initial investigations into where the illegal online loan was operating.

"Yesterday we backed up the West Java Regional Police", said Yuliyanto.

At the location, the police arrested as many as 83 illegal borrowing operators or debt collectors, including two HRD and one manager. 105 PCs, 105 cellphones, and several items related to criminal acts were also secured.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the West Java Police, Kombes Arief Rahman, said that the West Java Police received a report from an illegal loan victim with the initials TM who was under pressure to be hospitalized.

The results of the investigation, said Arief, showed that the perpetrators were operating in the DIY area.

According to him, the digital evidence obtained is very relevant so that the investigation and prosecution of the perpetrators will be carried out thoroughly.

"Interestingly, one debt collector operator is based on the mix and match between the digital evidence we got from the victim and what is here and it's fixed", he said.

Arief said to target victims, the illegal loan used 23 applications, all of which were not registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Only one application was registered to trick it into pretending the company was legal.

"We need to convey that this case began with the attention of the government who ordered the police and was ordered by the National Police Chief to take action against online loan actors who are very disturbing to the public", he said.
