Lautaro Martinez's Goal Gives Argentina Victory Over Peru
JAKARTA - Argentina won three points after a narrow 1-0 win over Peru in the South American zone (Conmebol) World Cup Qualification at El Monumental, Buenos Aires, Friday morning.
Citing from Antara, the only goal in this match was scored by Lautaro Martinez.
Argentina immediately pressed since the early minutes of the game. In the 9th minute, the home team had scored through Cristian Romero's header.
However, the goal was disallowed after the VAR-assisted referee ruled that Romero was in an offside position.
Argentina did not give up chasing goals through attacks built by Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria.
In the 22nd minute, Di Maria had a chance with a volley, but the ball still did not meet the target.
Argentina finally got a goal in the 43rd minute. Starting from the action of Nahuel Molina who released a crossing bait, Lautaro Martinez headed the ball into Pedro Gallese's goal. Argentina leads 1-0.
