Asked About His Desire To Run For The 2024 DKI Gubernatorial Election, Deputy Governor Riza: There Is No Such Thought
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria answered the question of plans to run for governor in the 2024 DKI Governor Election.
The chairman of the DKI Jakarta Gerindra Party DPD stated that he had never thought about formulating a strategy to run for the DKI political contest after his term ended on October 17, 2022.
"There is no such thought," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday, October 11.
Riza said the regional head election (pilkada) was still two years away. For him, it is better for political figures to focus on solving the COVID-19 pandemic.
"So, our people don't mind politics, now it's time for us to focus on health. It's time for us to focus on the economy, we take care of social problems. Don't worry about political problems, let alone 2024 is too far away from talking about the elections in 2024," he said. Riza.
Riza admitted that he received directions from the General Chair of Gerindra, Prabowo Subianto to fight for the interests of the nation and state.
To the cadres who served as regional heads, Riza admitted that Prabowo only ordered that he be a fair leader and not commit corruption.
"I also became Deputy Governor without any instructions. The instructions are clear, make sure, be a leader who always has welfare justice, social justice. That's his message (Prabowo). There is no this message, that message," said Riza Patria.
