4 Santri In Muncar Banyuwangi Are Poisoned After Eating Fried Rice

BANYUWANGI - Four students at the Islamic boarding school in Muncar District, Banyuwangi, are suspected of having food poisoning. They complained of stomach pain and diarrhea after eating fried rice.

"It is suspected that food poisoning is suspected," said the Head of the Muncar Police, AKP Kompol Zaenuri, when contacted on Thursday, October 7.

According to him, a female santri bought fried rice on Wednesday, October 6 evening. This fried rice is eaten by four students in the room.

On Thursday morning, the santri woke up complaining of stomach pain and dizziness.

"After midnight, my stomach hurt, defecated, and was dizzy. In the morning it was reported to the caretaker of the cottage, then reported to the puskesmas," he said.

After being examined by medical officers, the students admitted that they still complained of headaches. The students are currently under treatment.

"There is no official report yet. We want to step up to check samples and others are still waiting for reports," said Zaenuri.
