30 Years At Sinar Mas, Gandi Sulistiyanto Sub-conglomerate Eka Tjipta Widjaja Says Goodbye To Continuing His Career As Ambassador To South Korea

JAKARTA - Managing Director of Sinar Mas Group, Gandi Sulistiyanto, said goodbye to the company that made his name. The reason is that Gandi was appointed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to be the Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea in the near future.

Gandi, who is familiarly called Sulis, has followed a series of procedures in the DPR to become an ambassador for the K-Pop country. He said goodbye as a speaker at the Sinar Mas Group's 83rd Anniversary event, Wednesday 6 October, and asked for the blessing of the board of directors and company employees who have worked together for the last 30 years.

"I also want to say goodbye. I have worked at Sinar Mas for 30 years from the age of Sinar Mas, who is now 83. I ask for permission to say goodbye and ask for my blessing at the same time for those who don't know me," said Sulis in his remarks at the Sinar Mas 83 Anniversary Dialogue Forum. : Economic Outlook 2022.

In his presentation, Sulis said that he had a career at Sinar Mas since 1992. According to him, Sinar Mas has become a family.

The joys and sorrows he experienced with this company owned by the late conglomerate Eka Tjipta Widjaja. Gandi, is one of the Sinar Mas Group employees who have reached 400 thousand people.

"I have been part of the Sinar Mas family since 1992, I have many ups and downs, but I like the Sinar Mas family more," said Gandi.

During his 30 years with Sinar Mas, Gandi has made many Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs for the company, starting from the market for cooking oil produced by Sinar Mas, printing the Koran using paper produced by Sinar Mas to be distributed to people throughout Indonesia, establishing the Foundation Buddha Tzu Chi branch of Sinar Mas, and raised funds entitled Entrepreneurs Caring for the Homeland.

"Entrepreneurs who care for the Republic of Indonesia, who are coordinated, have collected aid funds of up to IDR 1.25 trillion and this will continue to grow," he said.

Gandhi also thanked him and said he was proud to have been a part of Sinar Mas. Gandi also admitted that he was appointed as ambassador thanks to his work at Sinar Mas for 30 years.

"Thank you for the opportunity and my respect for the ranks of Sinar Mas," he said.
