JCI Was Closed Tuesday, Surging 1.38 Percent To 5,120.7 Levels
JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed higher on trading Tuesday, July 21. JCI closed up 1.38 percent or 69.60 points to 5,120.71 levels.
Closing the trade, 262 stocks rose, 176 stocks fell, and 144 stocks were stagnant. The trading volume was recorded at 10.87 billion shares and transacted for Rp9.40 trillion.
Binaartha Sekuritas analyst, M. Nafan Aji Gustama, said the market appreciated the EU Summit agreement to carry out a stimulus program of 750 billion euros to help overcome the economic slowdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The market also appreciates that the development of vaccine research in the treatment of COVID-19 is increasingly positive," Nafan told VOI.
This afternoon, stocks that were among the top gainers, including PT Indofarma Tbk (INAF) which strengthened 24.90 percent to Rp1,505, PT Kimia Farma Tbk (KAEF) which rose 24.73 percent to Rp1,715, and PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (LPPF) which strengthened 16.60 percent to Rp1,510.
Meanwhile, stocks that are in the top losers ranks, including PT Cahayasakti Investindo Sukses Tbk (CSIS) which fell 5.45 percent to Rp52, PT Putra Rajawali Kencana Tbk (PURA) which fell 5.38 percent to Rp.123, and PT Ginting Jaya Energi Tbk (WOWS), which fell 4.50 percent to Rp106.
