Body Of A 13-year-old Boy Who Drowned In Cipinang River Was Found 3 Kilometers Away
JAKARTA - The joint SAR team finally found the body of AM, a 13-year-old boy who drowned in Cipinang River, Makasar Village, Makasar District, East Jakarta.
Head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC), Hendra Sudirman, said the victim's body was found Monday, October 4 at around 09.50 a.m. local time.
"Victim AM (13) was found at a radius of 3 kilometers from the scene, dead," said Hendra Sudirman to VOI, Monday, October 4.
The victim's body was immediately evacuated to the funeral home on Jalan AMD 12, Makasar District, East Jakarta.
"The discovery thanks to the synergy of the joint SAR Team, we found the victim on the fourth day of the search. We will hand over the victim to the family for processing," he said.

Hendra further said that his party appreciates the ranks of the SAR Team who are members of the search for victims. Hendra also expressed his condolences for the tragedy experienced by the victims.
As is known, the search process began on Thursday, September 30, the night when the victim was declared missing and drowned. After a 4-day search process, the victim's body was finally found dead. It was previously reported that the victim was on his way home running when it was raining heavily in the area. Then it slipped and fell into a culvert with a high volume of water and a strong current.
The victim's companion saw the victim being swept away by the current. The victim's friend gave chase, but unfortunately, the victim was nowhere to be seen.
The search involved joint SAR team personnel from the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office, DKI Jakarta Province TRC Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Makassar Sector Fire Department, Makassar District Civil Service Police (Satpol PP), Makassar Police Sector, Makasar Village, and a number of other rescue elements.
