Commemorating National Batik Day 2021, Dharma Pertiwi Holds Batik Activities Throughout The Archipelago
JAKARTA - Commemorating National Batik Day in 2021, Dharma Pertiwi holds batik activities simultaneously throughout the archipelago, from Sabang to Merauke. This batik activity was also attended by the wives of Defense Attaches from Indonesia who were on duty all over the world.
"National Batik is Indonesia's national celebration day to commemorate the stipulation of batik as a human heritage for oral and non-material culture which has been established on October 2, 2009 by UNESCO," explained the General Chairperson of Dharma Pertiwi Ny. Nanny Hadi Tjahjanto, through the release received, Saturday 2 October.
Nanny Hadi Tjahjanto said, in the context of National Batik Day which is commemorated every October 2, Dharma Pertiwi and the Indonesian Batik Foundation are jointly moved to carry out the Nusantara Batik Awareness Movement simultaneously throughout the world.
Batik, according to Nanny, has been ingrained in Indonesian society since the time of their ancestors and its diversity is the result of acculturation of various cultures in Indonesia. The patterns and motifs are never the same, based on the geographical location and local wisdom of each region.
"For this reason, we are moved to express the power of togetherness and diversity in Indonesia by organizing Nusantara Batik, followed by all Indonesian Representatives around the world, in all corners of the archipelago in the context of Indonesian Diversity," explained Nanny.
At the end of the event, Jaya Suprana as chairman of the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) gave an award for holding this event.
"This deserves to be included in the Muri museum, because it has made batik around the world simultaneously," he praised.
