Good News From North Sumatra, Export Value Of Animal/Vegetable Fats And Oils Reaches 3.258 Billion US Dollars
JAKARTA - North Sumatra Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) noted that the export value of animal/vegetable fats and oils in North Sumatra Province until August 2021 had reached USD 3.258 billion, an increase of 71.69 percent compared to the same period in 2020 of 1.897 billion.
"The increase in the export value of animal/vegetable fats and oils was driven by an increase in the volume and selling price of export goods," said Head of the North Sumatra Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Syech Suhaimi in Medan, as reported by Antara, Saturday, October 2.

He explained, with an export value of USD 3.258 billion, the contribution of this category of goods to the total export value of North Sumatra in the first semester of 2021 was 43.25 percent.
Executive Secretary of the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (Gapki) of North Sumatra, Darma Sucipto, said the export price of crude palm oil or CPO continues to increase.
The price of CPO in September was in the range of IDR 12.594 from January, which was still an average of IDR 9.746 per kilogram.
The increase in export prices was due to the increasing trend of demand amid concerns that stocks were running low.
