MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution visited the Director General of Highways, Ministry of PUPR. Bobby explained the road repair program in Medan City, including the underpass construction project plan.

Bobby Nasution explained that in Medan City there are provincial and national roads. For roads that are nationally owned, many are in poor condition. The total length of the national road in Medan is about 70,572 meters.

There are also national roads in the city of Medan, namely Jalan Gagak Hitam / Jalan Setia Budi, Jalan Binjai Raya / Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan AH Nasution, Jalan Ngumban Surbakti / Jalan Letjend Jamin Ginting, Jalan Defense.

During the meeting, it was decided that the national road in Medan would be 100 percent repaired by the Director General of the PUPR Ministry.

"Alhamdulillah, it will not only be repaired but will also be maintained periodically, because many are easily damaged even though they have been repaired. For that, we will also study what the problem is. If there is a problem with the drainage, it will also be repaired," said Bobby Nasution, Friday, October 1.

During the meeting, Bobby Nasution also conveyed a program to relieve congestion in the city of Medan. Bobby said he would build two underpass points, on Jalan Gagak Hitam and at Simpang Dobi, Medan Deli.

"Yes, God willing, we will build two underpasses in 2023. The first is in the Black Crow, yes. But that will still be studied because there is already a design drawing in the form of a flyover. Now, we want to use this as an underpass, we will study the possibility of flooding. So we need a study so there is a flow. water to Bedera River. For that, there will be full collaboration with BWS," he explained.

"Secondly at the Dobi intersection, we will also build an underpass that has been approved with the road widening stage in 2022 because it is designed to overcome bottle neck or narrowing," concluded Bobby Nasution.
