Following TWK Follow-up, One KPK Young Investigator Failed And Dismissed

JAKARTA - A young investigator from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Lakso Anindito became the last employee to be declared a failure in the National Insight Test (TWK) after conducting a follow-up exam. He was one of three employees who took the test because he was still on duty.

"Yes, I have received (the letter of dismissal, ed)," Lakso told reporters, Thursday, September 30.

He believes that his failure to carry out the TWK which led to his dismissal was due to his views. Lakso admitted that he was interviewed by an assessor who claimed to be from the TNI for three hours.

In the interview, he was asked about the revision of the KPK Law Number 19 of 2019 which he rejected. "Actually, the essence of the written question is the same, only that the interview questions are more about the opinion on the revision of the KPK Law and TWK," said Lakso.

After failing, the KPK then issued Lakso's Dismissal Decree on Thursday, September 29. This means that his service since 2015 at the KPK must stop at the end of September.

Lakso also admitted that he had never received any clarity from the KPK leadership regarding his status, because suddenly he received a dismissal decree.

"I was not given further explanation. In fact, unlike other friends, I did not receive the SK Not Qualifying," he said.

After being part of the 57 employees who were fired, Lakso considered what he and his colleagues had experienced was aimed at getting rid of employees with integrity.

"Well, I am only one of them. So the pattern of resistance must be carried out together, it is impossible to fight alone," he said. Previously, 57 employees were declared unable to work at the KPK because they could not become ASN according to the mandate of the KPK Law No. 19 of 2019 as of the end of September. The employees include senior KPK investigators Novel Baswedan and Ambarita Damanik, Chairman of the KPK Employee Forum Yudi Purnomo, KPK investigator Harun Al-Rasyid, and dozens of other names.

The KPK argues that their inability to become ASN is not due to laws and regulations such as Perkom KPK Number 1 of 2021 but because of the results of their assessment.

Ahead of the dismissal, the National Police Chief admitted that he wanted to recruit 56 KPK employees who did not pass the TWK to become Polri ASN. This desire was conveyed in a letter to President Jokowi last week and was approved.

There is also the reason Sigit wants to recruit tens of these employees because the Police need human resources to strengthen the line of prosecution of corruption cases. Moreover, the National Police is currently also focusing on handling the COVID-19 recovery.
