Held 6 Fictitious Activities, Former Village Head And Treasurer In Riau Islands Sekongkol Robbing Village Funds Rp232 Million

KEPRI - Former Village Head compactly committed corruption with his village treasurer in Kelanga Village, East Bunguran District, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands. Both of them are now languishing at the Natuna Police Resort prodeo hotel.

Wakapolres Natuna Kompol Ferri Afrizon said the former village head with the initials M was suspected of misappropriating the village fund (ADD) budget of Rp232 million. The money was diverted from six fictitious activities.

"Both of them have been named suspects since September 16, 2021," Ferri said in a case title at the Natuna Police Headquarters as reported by Antara, Wednesday, September 29.

Ferri added that fictitious activities that use state money include MDA development, community health development, community capacity building, environmental conservation, village head official trips and tournament activities.

The village head M, he said, ordered the village treasurer with the initials H to disburse the budget for the activity, without any submissions from the implementation of the activity.

"The village head also ordered the village treasurer to make a fictitious account of activities," said Natuna Deputy Chief of Police.

The case file has been transferred to the Natuna Branch of the District Attorney's Office.

The actions of the two suspects are suspected of Article 2 and Article 3 of Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning corruption, junto Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code with a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

"The file has been transferred to the prosecutor's office for further proceedings," said the Deputy Chief of Police.
