Woman In Padang Who Claimed To Be Almost Raped By Ojol Driver Lying, Already Knows Each Other Through Matchmaking Application

PADANG - The Padang Police, West Sumatra team discovered lies in the statement of N (23) who claimed to be raped by an online motorcycle taxi driver (Ojol).

"After receiving the report from the woman, we immediately conducted an investigation, examined the location and witnesses, and found elements of lies", said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Padang Police, Kompol Rico Fernanda, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 28.

The accused man who was initially referred to by the victim as an online motorcycle taxi driver turned out to be not an online motorcycle taxi as claimed by N.

The man in fact has known each other with N since September 17, 2021, they met through a matchmaking application.

In fact, the two are also known to have met and gone together, from eating Pecel Lele to one of the shopping centers in Padang.

"So it needs to be clarified that this man is not an online motorcycle taxi driver, because they already know each other", said Rico.

In addition, different information was also found between N, who claimed to be raped and harassed by the man, then she fled to escape.

While the results of the investigation revealed that N did not run away, because it was the man who drove her home to her boarding house.

The police have not been able to explain N's motive for giving such information, but it is suspected that it was to cover up his relationship with the accused man so that her boyfriend would not know.

"We need to straighten it out so as not to make the community restless, and this issue is still being processed by the police", he said.

Previously, N admitted to being a victim of harassment and nearly being raped by an online motorcycle taxi driver on Monday, September 27.

In fact, she was accompanied by her boyfriend who had made a police report to the Padang Police, so that the police followed up.
