KUPANG - Head of the regional office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Marciana D Jone, asked officers at the Kupang Class IIB Detention Center to treat detainees more humanely.
"There should be no inhumane treatment to prisoners, both psychological and physical as well as unfair treatment of services for the provision of prisoners' rights which will have the potential to cause disturbances in security and order, always keep conditions in the detention center so that it is always safe and conducive," he said in Kupang, reported by Antara, Tuesday, September 28.
This was conveyed when he carried out a sudden inspection (sidak) at the Kupang Class IIB Rutan to monitor the security and order conditions in the detention center.
He said that every officer on duty in the detention center must maintain the good name of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, especially the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of NTT itself.
He also emphasized that all forms of illegal levies must be eliminated because it will tarnish the good name of the Kemenkumham agency.
Marciana said that he would take firm action against those who commit violence and extortion so as to create a bad image for the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
"We must protect the good name of the institution together as well as possible, build a sense of belonging and love for the institution by not committing acts that are detrimental to the institution," said the Head of Regional Office. , sufficient clean water and the transfer of prisoners who have received a final and binding decision (inkracht) by the court.
"Perform an assessment and mapping of prisoners whose remaining criminal terms are more than 12 months and immediately carry out gradual transfers to prisons," he said.
When he arrived at the detention center, the Head of the Regional Office accompanied by the Head of the Detention Center Security Unit, Rocky Osingmahi, went straight to the detention block to see the situation inside the block and had a dialogue with the prisoners and gave directions to the guards.
