The National Armed Force Assists Operation For Jayapura Resident Who Has Suffered From Cataracts For 10 Years

JAKARTA - Philip (64) has suffered from cataracts for 10 years, an Ondo Adat from Mosso Village, Jayapura, Papua. Philip's long wait to see normally again finally came true.

The Indonesian Pamtas Task Force-PNG Infantry Battalion 131/Brs realized Philip's (64) hopes. He was taken to Jayapura Hospital for cataract surgery.

The Indonesian Pamtas Dansatgas-PNG Infantry Battalion 131/Brs Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Erfani explained that the assistance was given after receiving a report from the Mosso Danpos, there were assisted residents from Mosso Village who had suffered from cataracts for 10 years and needed surgery.

"However, his hope so far has not been realized due to administrative and cost constraints. For that, through the CKM Task Force Doctor, Dr. Muhammad Hendra Rizki, we help the treatment process for Mr. Philip by coordinating with the hospital and related agencies," said Lieutenant Colonel Erfani in a written statement, Monday 27 September.

After five days, the entire administrative process was completed and the operation was carried out safely and smoothly.

"Our health personnel always accompany Mr. Philip from going to the hospital, during the operation to returning home. This is a tangible manifestation of the presence of the National Armed Force (TNI) in helping to overcome the difficulties experienced by the community," he continued.

Philip expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian Pamtas Task Force-PNG Infantry Battalion 131/Brs for helping to realize his wish for a long time. And now, he will be able to move without experiencing visual problems.

"I am really touched and happy for the assistance from the TNI Task Force gentlemen, for the difficulties I have experienced so far," he concluded.
