Head Of Rejang Lebong Bengkulu Village, Owner Of Assembled Firearms Fired
REJANG LEBONG - The Village and Community Empowerment Service (PMD) of Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu confirmed that the village head (kades) who owned homemade firearms had been dismissed from his position.
Head of the PMD Rejang Lebong Office, Suradi Rifai, said that the positions of the two village heads in this area were vacant, because one person died. Meanwhile, another person was dismissed from his position because he was involved in legal problems over possession of firearms.
"The position of Kades Karang Pinang is currently held by the Acting Head of the Sindang Beliti Ulu sub-district, the person concerned has been dismissed from his position because the sentence for punishment is more than five years," he said, quoted by Antara, Saturday, September 25.
Suradi explained that after the Padang Ulak Tanding Police team made the arrest, the position of the Karang Pinang village head was immediately held by the local sub-district head as acting.
The Karang Pinang village head position, he said, was planned to be carried out as an interim replacement or PAW because it was only elected in the 2020 Simultaneous Pilkades.
As for the position of Head of Lubuk Kembang Village, who died in mid-2021, the Acting Head of North Curup Sub-district will remain until the end of his term of office in August 2022.
The implementation of the simultaneous Pilkades in Rejang Lebong Regency in 2022, he said, will be held in 61 villages. The outreach has been done.
"In Law Number 6 of 2014, Article 39 concerning Villages states that the village head holds a position for six years. The village head can serve at most three times in a row or not consecutively," said Suradi Rifai.
