Police Examine Witness In Viral Middle School Student Persecution Case In West Pasaman
SIMPANG EMPAT - West Pasaman Police, West Sumatra, examined a number of witnesses related to the alleged abuse and beating of Junior High School (SMP) 4 students in Nagari Aia Gadang, West Pasaman which went viral on social media.
"We have visited the school and asked for information from a number of people involved at the location," said West Pasaman Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Fetrizal at Simpang Empat, quoted by Antara, Saturday, September 25.
He said the motive for the alleged abuse was not yet known. Therefore a number of witnesses will be questioned and summoned on Monday, September 27.
Among those examined were teachers, students in the video to Wali Nagari or the local village head.
Previously circulated a video of alleged abuse of a student by a group of students in an Aia Gadang oil palm plantation, Pasaman District.
The video went viral on social media which was uploaded to a Facebook social media account with the username Adi Abadi Adi. The upload contains the title "please take legal action, Pasbar Aia Gadang SMP 4".
In the 2.50 minute video, it appears that a student dressed in junior high school is beaten by two people, one in normal clothes and the other in the same school uniform.
In the video, the perpetrator of the beating can also be heard telling a student who wants to break up the beating.
"Don't follow me, this is my business (jan sato leh, iko ambo's business)," said one of the perpetrators.
The video recorded the beating on the road to the oil palm plantation. The suspect was seen beating the victim to the ground.
Meanwhile, the victim was seen trying to dodge the blow without taking any action at all.
