Young Couple Customers Of Securities Owned By Conglomerate Hary Tanoesoedibjo Choose BRI And Telkom Shares For Children's Birthday Gifts, This Is The Reason

JAKARTA - Investors have various motivations in investing in stocks. Some want to keep it long-term to prepare for retirement, for short-term trading, or for loved ones, such as for the future of their children.

An example is the couple of young parents of MNC Sekuritas customers, Eka Kurnia, and his wife, Tien Kartini. Last August, Eka gave a gift of 10 lots of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) shares for the 4th birthday of their daughter, Tyara Rinjani Almahyra.

On Monday 21 September, Eka and Tien again gave stock gifts for the 5th birthday of their son, Rakha Kanawa Mumtaz. Rakha was awarded 10 lots or 1,000 shares of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM).

Eka admitted that he chose to give shares as birthday gifts for his children because he wanted to give something useful instead of toys or the like.

"Developments in the telecommunications world make information technology more developed in the future. Thus, TLKM will become one of the market leaders in its sector," explained Eka, who has been a security customer belonging to conglomerate Hary Tanoesoedibjo since 2020, in a written statement, quoted on Saturday, September 25.

Eka continued, Telkom also has good fundamentals and is one of the issuers with the largest market cap in the JCI. This automatically makes TLKM very likely to be saved for the long term until the child grows up.

Another reason, Eka added, is because TLKM also has a fairly high dividend yield. Eka hopes that he and his wife can be more consistent in giving stock gifts to their children as birthday gifts.

"I hope that in the future my children will just continue to invest in stocks and enjoy dividends every year. I also hope that what I am doing can inspire other parents to be able to give birthday gifts in the form of stock gifts for children," close Eka.
