National Police Chief Idham Aziz Dismissed Brig. Gen. Prasetyo Regarding The Djoko Tjandra Road Letter

JAKARTA - Head of the Coordinating and Supervision Bureau (Karo Korwas) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo, was removed from his position. Prasetyo was removed because he was suspected of issuing a passport letter for fugitive Djoko Tjandra.

The removal was known from the Secret Telegram (TR) issued by the National Police Chief, General Idham Aziz. This was confirmed by the Head of Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Argo Yuwono.

According to him, this was based on the results of the investigation which stated that the high-ranking police officer was found guilty of the issuance of the pass.

"Yes, he (Brig. Gen. Prasetyo Utomo) was proven to have violated the rules. The TR has been removed," said Argo, Wednesday, July 15.

Referring to the TR Chief of Police with number ST / 1980 / VII / KEP. / 2020 dated July 15, 2020. Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo transferred from his initial position as Karo Karwas PPNS Bareskrim Polri to be pati Yanma Polri for examination.

The decision to remove the position of Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo, was signed directly by the US HR Chief of Police, Inspector General of Police Sutrisno Yudi Hermawan.

Previously, the Professional and Security Division (Propam) questioned Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo regarding a pass in the name of Djoko Tjandra.

In addition, the issuance of the travel letter Number: SJ / 82 / VI / 2020 / Rokorwas, dated 18 June 2020, is said to be an initiative of the high-ranking officer. On the travel letter, it was written that Djoko Tjandra left for Pontianak, West Kalimantan from Jakarta on June 19 and returned on June 22, 2020.
