Malang Mayor Sutiaji Apologizes For Viral Gowes Entourage Entering The Famous Merak Beach Which Was Closed Due To PPKM

MALANG - Mayor of Malang, East Java, Sutiaji apologized after the video of the traveling group went viral on social media. Sutiaji's entourage entered the famous Merak beach when it was closed due to PPKM.

"Regarding the incident at the famous Merak, of course, on behalf of ourselves, on behalf of our institution, we apologize profusely to all the people of Earth Arema whom we love and to all Forpimda throughout Malang Raya," said Sutiaji, Thursday, September 23.

Previously, Malang City Secretary, Erik Setyo Santoso, had apologized. However, there is an insistence that Mayor Sutiaji himself immediately apologizes to the residents.

"For that we apologize profusely. We are ordinary people who cannot be separated from mistakes and escapes," he explained.

The Mayor of Malang promised to cooperate with the legal process and hand everything over to the Malang Police.

"We will follow the legal process. The issue of legal provisions, sanctions, we fully leave to the authorities," said Sutiaji.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Malang City DPRD, I Made Riandiana Kartika, said that Sutiaji had to follow the applicable legal procedures. If Sutiaji is guilty then he must be punished according to the provisions.

"In conclusion, enforce the law as uprightly and fairly as possible. If the guardian is not wrong, we must follow it, we admit it. If the guardian is wrong, we have followed (the legal rules)," he said.

According to him, everyone including the law must obey the law. He promised Malang City DPRD will continue to oversee this case.

"We are in a state of law that we must obey together. We are in a state of law, but we ourselves do not obey the law," he added.
