Luhut Restuis Liga 2 Held, Conditions Maximum 8 Matches Per Week

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menkomarves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the government has approved the League 2 title for the current implementation of PPKM.

Liga 2 will kick off on 26 September. Persis Solo had the honor to host the preliminary round of Liga 2.

However, Luhut stipulates that matches can only be held a maximum of 8 times a week. He conveyed this in the extension of the Java-Bali PPKM until October 4.

"The opening of the League 2 matches will be held in Level 3 and 2 district cities with a maximum of 8 matches per week," Luhut said in a virtual press conference, Monday, September 20.

In the extension of the PPKM, the government also allows the opening of restaurants or other places to eat within sports facilities. Previously, the restaurant at the sports facility was still closed.

"Restaurants in outdoor sports facilities can operate at 50 percent capacity," he said.

Furthermore, Luhut said a number of regions experienced a decline in the PPKM assessment level over the next two weeks. In fact, currently there are no regions that apply PPKM Level 4.

"Currently, there are no city districts that are at level 4 in Java-Bali. So all of them are at (PPKM) Levels 3 and 2," said Luhut.

Luhut explained, the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to show improvement. The epidemiological estimation results of the UI Faculty of Medicine show that Indonesia's effective reproductive rate for the first time during this pandemic has been below 1, which is 0.98.

"This figure means that every 1 case of COVID-19 infects an average of 0.98 people or the number of cases will continue to decrease. This figure can be interpreted that the Indonesian COVID-19 pandemic has been controlled," said Luhut.
