Predator 305 Street Children From France Suicide

JAKARTA - The suspect in the case of 305 street children who are foreign citizens (WNA) from France, Francois Abello Camille, ended his life by hanging himself in a detention cell. Although he had been helped, his life was not saved.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Yusri Yunus, said that the attempted suicide of the man who is familiarly called Frans was carried out in the Polda Metro Jaya detention cell on Thursday, July 9, or shortly after the case against him was submitted to the public.

Frans's suicide attempt was discovered when officers guarding the detention cell were on patrol to check the conditions of the detainees. However, when he was right in Frans's cell, this old man was found already in a condition where his neck was tied to a cable. According to him, Frans used the electric cable on the ceiling. Because of his height, he was able to reach the cable.

"There are cables tied but not hanging, trying to load this heavy body on the wall trying to initiate a suicide attempt," said Yusri in Jakarta, Monday, July 13.

Then, the guard untied Frans's neck. Furthermore, the man was immediately taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital to be given first aid.

"It was discovered by the officers right away and then rushed to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for nurses and medical treatment," said Yusri.

Even though he had received medical treatment for three days, said Yusri, Frans's life could not be saved and he died. Then, investigators held a reconstruction to determine the method used in the suicide attempt.

As a result of the reconstruction, Frank actually made use of his tall posture to reach the cable and wrap it around his neck. So, with the results of the reconstruction, investigators are coordinating with the French Embassy.

"After the reconstruction was carried out it was confirmed that the cable was very high and could not possibly be reached, the cable was at the (top) end of the special detention cell," Yuri said.

In addition, Kabiddokkes Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Umar Shahab said, based on the doctor's diagnosis and X-rays there were cracks in his spine. That was what caused Frans to die.

"The diagnosis from the treating doctor was clear from the X-rays that there was a fracture in the spine in the neck which caused the marrow to get caught in a snare, causing the oxygen supply to the brain and important organs to decrease. That's what caused him (to die)," concluded Umar. .
