Ariel Tatum And Jerome Kurnia Starring In City War Movie

JAKARTA - The film War of the City adapted from the classic Indonesian literary novel published in 1952, Jalan Tak Ada Ujung, by Mochtar Lubis has found its main character. According to Director Mouly Surya, the three main actors are Ariel Tatum, Lukman Sardi, and Jerome Kurnia.

“It is a pleasure to announce that Lukman Sardi will play Isa, Ariel Tatum as Fatimah and Jerome Kurnia as Hazil in the film War of the City,” said Cinesurya producer Rama Adi when contacted Thursday, September 16.

Rama added that production of the film will soon enter the production phase in early 2022, after Mouly has completed production of the action-thriller genre film, Trigger Warning, starring Jessica Alba in New Mexico, United States.

The screenplay for the film, written by Mouly Surya, tells the story of Isa - an impotent war hero and school teacher in Jakarta - trying to regain his former glory for some money on a mission to blow up a movie theater to kill a Dutch general, while the Dutch and British collaborate to colonize Indonesia. “For me, a role in a film is like a soul mate, I have known Mouly for a long time, personally and through his works. But it's been a long time since they finally got married.
