Praise Rodrygo And Camavinga's Qualities, Ancelotti: We Have Tough Young Players

JAKARTA - Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti praised the qualities of two young players Rodrygo and Eduardo Camavinga who played a big role in Los Blancos' 1-0 win in the last minute of their Champions League group stage match against Inter Milan at the San Siro, Milan, early Thursday.

Ancelotti brought on Rodrygo (20) in the 65th minute followed by Camavinga (18) with ten minutes remaining. "We have strong young players," Ancelotti said after the game as quoted by ESPN. "I have to add experience, that's normal in these kinds of games, but this team has very, very quality young players."

"(I told Rodrygo) that how long you play is not important, what matters is how you play," Ancelotti continued. "He played for 20 minutes and did well, not only because of the goal, but also defensively. In front of goal he is very level-headed...His role is important, sometimes he can play from the start, one time he can come in and be a team player. decisive."

Rodrygo, who was bought for 45 million euros from Brazil in 2019 also played a part as Madrid beat Inter 3-2 in last season's group stage match.

Meanwhile Camavinga did not take long to settle at the Bernabeu by scoring on his La Liga debut last weekend as Madrid won 5-2 against Celta Vigo. Now he creates assists for Los Blancos in his first Champions League match.

"He's a player who can play for Real Madrid, that's why we signed him," said Ancelotti. "He is very young but has a lot of quality. We have to be patient with him until he gets a chance to progress even more. He has to improve defensively and he will do that later."
